Managing Crucial Conversations: Talking When the Stakes are High

Difficult or crucial conversations are those tough conversations we fear will hurt or make things worse.  We are masters of avoidance when it comes to these types of conversations.  We avoid them through e-mail, voice mail, or changing subjects when things get risky.  The results of these conversations can have a great impact on the quality of your life, with elements of daily routines changed for better or worse.  If you handle a seemingly insignificant conversation poorly, you establish a pattern of behavior that shows up in all of your crucial conversations.
 
This presentation will provide you with an overview of key concepts as explained in the book “Crucial Conversations”.  The book outlines principles for changing our style under stress, and turning ideas into action, even in your personal life.  Mastering crucial conversations kick-starts your career, strengthens your relationships and can improve your health.  People who are most influential and who get things done are those who have mastered crucial conversations.

After a fourteen year career at Littleton Regional Healthcare as HR Director, in 2017 she accepted the role of Executive Director at Riverglen House, an independent and assisted living community here in Littleton.
