SUMMARY:Managing Crucial Conversations: Talking When the Stakes are High
DESCRIPTION:Part of the Chamber's Business Resource Seminar Series... \n\n\n\nDifficult or crucial conversations are those tough conversations we fear will hurt or make things worse. We are masters of avoidance when it comes to these types of conversations. We avoid them through e-mail\, voice mail\, or changing subjects when things get risky. The results of these conversations can have a great impact on the quality of your life\, with elements of daily routines changed for better or worse. If you handle a seemingly insignificant conversation poorly\, you establish a pattern of behavior that shows up in all of your crucial conversations.\n\n \n\nThis presentation will provide you with an overview of key concepts as explained in the book "Crucial Conversations". The book outlines principles for changing our style under stress\, and turning ideas into action\, even in your personal life. Mastering crucial conversations kick-starts your career\, strengthens your relationships and can improve your health. People who are most influential and who get things done are those who have mastered crucial conversations.\n\n\n\nFeel free to arrive as early as 11:30am to purchase lunch or get settled. Program will begin promptly at Noon. \n\nHOSTED BY: Georgene Novak\, SHRM-CP - Executive Director\, Riverglen House\n\nGeorgene is a seasoned and versatile Human Resource professional with expertise managing in both small and large healthcare\, professional and industrial settings.
