AUDIENCE: School administrators and staff, emergency responders, and law enforcement
Crisis Management for School-Based Incidents is an eight-hour awareness-level course to educate school administrators, staff, emergency responders, and rural law enforcement personnel to effectively respond to an emergency involving a school building or an entire school system. The training will provide representatives of rural law enforcement departments with a foundation of knowledge and skills that will enable them to progressively establish a school-based emergency response plan and crisis management team through information sharing and training. Topics covered include:
• Intro. to Incident Planning and Preparedness • Proactive thread mitigation • Incident Response • Incident Recovery • Vulnerability assessments • Threat assessment management • Incident defusing and debriefing • Parent unification • Anniversaries, memorials, “Copy-Cats.” Cost: Free
