This one-day HIV/AIDS Training will provide participants with basic and updated information about HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted Diseases (STDs). Topics covered will include: • Disease transmission of HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C and Hepatitis B (HCV and HBV) • the process and benefits of testing for HIV/AIDS, HCV, and HBV • the correlation between diseases and substance use in many clients • examples of harm-reduction strategies for clients • the legal rights for those diagnosed with HIV/AIDS • how recovery support workers can help dispel the culture of stigma related to HIV/AIDS.
This HIV/AIDS Training for Recovery Support Workers is the 3rd training in a series of 4 required trainings for individuals to earn the Certified Recovery Support Worker (CRSW) credential. Participants may sign up for all 4 or any of the trainings individually on the same registration form.
