Director of Finance

We are recruiting for the position of Director of Finance who, as an essential collaborative member of the senior leadership team, will report directly to the Executive Director (ED) and continue to foster the growth of an organization with an annual budget of $4-6 million and approximately 32 employees.
 

JOB DUTIES
  •   Oversee all finance department activities, including budgeting, financial forecasting, financial reporting requirements, and cash flow for administration, existing programs, and proposed new programs and services
  • Review and approve preparation and finalization of monthly and annual financial reporting materials and metrics for Executive Director and Board of Directors
  • Coordinate all activities for financial, federal, State, and worker’s compensation audits
  • Partner with Executive Director on the organization’s financial, budgeting, and administrative processes
  • Supervise Finance staff
  • Monitor insurance coverages
  • Assist with payroll and insurance benefit oversight
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to review and update Financial Policies and Procedures
  • Adhere to NCHC Policies and applicable laws, including State and Federal guidelines
  • Create budgets for new, existing, and potential revenue streams
  • Assess insurance needs, complete agent applications, and revise coverage as circumstances require
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or Finance
  • Minimum 5-8 years of senior professional experience managing the financial administration of a high-growth organization, preferably in a non-profit organization and/or including grant/fund accounting
  • Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting, ideally in the nonprofit sector with experience with grant budgets, fund accounting, and contracts
  • Experience should include audit preparation, compliance monitoring, and development and monitoring of budgets
  • Ability to manage priorities and evaluate efficiencies
  • Proven track record for supervision, management, budgeting, financial administration, and relevant technology
  • Flexible and a self-starter; able to multitask while also being highly detail-oriented
  • Fluent in Microsoft Suite, AccuFund accounting software, Paychex, and navigation of banking and relevant websites/software
