Adaptive Sports Partners of the North Country (ASPNC) has some shoes to fill for activities coming up this winter and they include hiking boots, snowshoes, sneakers, ski AND snowboard boots, hockey skates, and yes, even flip flops. ASPNC provides over 20 different sport, recreation, and wellness activities year-round and is committed to working with persons with any kind of disability. Volunteers help assure that ASPNC life enriching programs continue and in return, receive plenty of benefits too. As one volunteer shared, “When I can coax a smile of achievement from someone, we both enjoy a warming sense of well-being. Since ASPNC activities are physical and usually outdoors, it’s even better because I value both so much.” ASPNC winter programs kick off in December and January and volunteers are needed for snowshoeing/winter hiking, basketball, indoor Boccia, swimming, sled hockey, wheelchair tennis, alpine skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, and indoor climbing. No previous experience is necessary!
Anyone interested in volunteering can attend one of five information sessions scheduled this fall. Give a call to 603-823-5232 or send an email to info@adaptivesportspartners.org if you would like to sign up or have questions.
