FREE workshop for kids ages 10+ Join us for the second workshop in our Wings 2.0 summer series! We will be making designing and making cloth flags. Participants will plan their designs, paint them on fabric, and make functional flags. We are all familiar with flags that represent states, countries, organizations. Now we are going to make flags that represent ourselves. In this workshop, we will spend some time thinking about the parts of ourselves that we want to honor and share with the world, and then work on making a flag that expresses these things. Making masks is a practice that dates back to ancient times. In this workshop, we will explore different types of masks and the different reasons we might make and wear them. All of our summer workshop participants are invited to join us at WREN on Saturday, August 12th for Summerfest. WREN will have a table for the Wings 2.0 program where we can display our work, and participants can also join in the parade! Our Wings 2.0 workshops are a program of WREN’s Women’s Work Initiative, which seeks to empower North Country women and children and create pathways to life-long success. By amplifying our children’s voices, we reinforce their inherent value to our community and empower them to share their unique worldviews.
