A Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) will assist the nursing staff with performing assigned tasks. They are an important member of a health team. LNAs observe and report changes in a patient’s or resident’s condition. Nursing assistant tasks include: taking vital signs, assisting with feeding, bathing and dressing patients, making beds, setting up medical equipment and assisting with some laboratory testing and medical procedures. Upon completion of a state approved course, Nursing Assistants can become licensed by taking the License Nurse Assistant Competency test and receive a license to practice as an LNA by the New Hampshire Board of Nursing.
