WREN Celebrates Remodel with Grand Reopening Celebration On February 15th, join the celebration for WREN’s newly remodeled Store and Gallery. A full day of festivities awaits, with an open house from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM, a ribbon cutting and toast at 5:00 PM, and an opening reception for gallery exhibition From WREN, With Love, from 5:00-7:00 PM. All are welcome at this community event. Thanks to grant funding from the Northern Border Regional Commission and the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, and support from generous WREN donors, improvements have been made throughout the Store and Gallery at WREN. The completion of structural renovations has improved accessibility in the Store and Gallery. Gallery renovations include the installation of beautiful hardwood floors and state-of-the-art lighting and hanging systems. WREN’s new gallery exhibition, From WREN, With Love, features the work of WREN’s diverse member group. This exhibition celebrates the love that forms the basis for WREN’s mission and values: Love for the arts, and for the community. “We’re so grateful to everyone who made these renovations possible,” says Executive Director Julia Webb. “Our grantors and donors made it financially feasible, and our volunteers and contractors made it happen. I’m so glad that Cedar Brook Builders and On the Fly Electric were able to fit this project into their schedules. WREN is happy to be working with local contractors- supporting local businesses is one of the ways we fulfill our mission of supporting better lives and livelihoods in the North Country.” The grand reopening celebration will take place at the Gallery at WREN, at 2011 Main Street in Bethlehem. From 10:00 AM-5:00 PM, open house attendees can enjoy refreshments from WREN member businesses, and enter free drawings for a variety of door prizes, including a WREN membership, along with prizes from WREN community partners. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and a toast will be held at 5 pm. The opening reception for From WREN, With Love will follow. The reception will feature wines from Rossi Import. “The process of having WREN renovated has been great in a lot of ways. With this revamped space, we can be really intentional about how we set up the Store and Gallery. We’re also using this opportunity to reflect deeply on WREN’s role in the community. As we reopen with a fresh, clean aesthetic in the physical space, we’re also coming back with increased clarity about WREN’s purpose,” says Webb. “We are renewing our commitment to the values that shaped WREN at its inception 30 years ago, and updating our programming for the needs of our present-day constituents. WREN has always been intended to be an inclusive community organization; WREN is for everyone! Our primary commitment is to supporting better lives. We accomplish this by supporting better livelihoods, both through entrepreneurial support and market access; by providing access to the arts via our Gallery; and by continuously working to strengthen our community. Whether you’ve been part of the WREN community since day one, or you’ve never been involved with WREN, or you fall somewhere in between– let me extend the warmest welcome back to WREN.” From WREN, With Love is on view through February 28th in the Gallery at WREN. The Gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM, and Sunday from 11:00 AM-4:00 PM.
