An Autumn Church Dinner – Experience the flavors of Switzerland
The First Congregational Church of Littleton is hosting an Autumn Dinner and Silent Auction on Saturday, October 6, 2018 to do just that! Chef Victor Hofmann, formerly of the Wayside Inn in Bethlehem, has come out of retirement to prepare a Swiss inspired meal for one night at the First Congregational Church. This plated meal consisting of tossed salad with Victor’s homemade maple dressing, high-quality bratwurst from Wisconsin, rösti potatoes and marinated red cabbage will be served during continuous seating from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Other delights will include homemade pickles, rolls and an assortment of pies made and served lovingly by the congregation. Ticket prices at the door are $12.00 for adults/teens, $5.00 for children 5-12, and free for children 4 and under.
The dinner will once again feature a Silent Auction, at which one can bid on a wide array of crafts, services, food items and other donated items. The winning bidders will be announced at 7:00 pm. on Saturday, October 6th. You NEED NOT be present to win.
The proceeds of the Autumn Dinner and Silent Auction help support the annual mission and outreach budget of the church. In addition to state, national and worldwide missions supported through the United Church of Christ Wider Mission Fund, this year’s mission partners include North Country Home Health & Hospice Agency, Littleton Area Senior Center/Meals on Wheels, The Circle Program, The Mayhew Program, and the Youth Movement 360 teen mentoring program. Another very important mission of the church is the Shining Lights Learning Center, opened in 2006, which has the mission of providing affordable child care and learning in a Christian setting. Currently under the directorship of Melissa Kam, the center has an average enrollment of 30 children in toddler and pre-school programs.
Don’t miss the chance to experience authentic mouth-watering Swiss cuisine, brought from the Alps to the Appalachians by this talented and well-loved chef, Victor Hofmann at the First Congregational Church of Littleton on Saturday, October 6th! This autumn highlight dinner for both local residents and visitors from afar, offers delicious homemade food at a modest price.
