DESCRIPTION:Lisbon Area Historical Society (LAHS) will be hosting a free public program on July 23\, 2025\, at 7:00 p.m. at the LAHS Museum in The Historic Lisbon Congregational Church Parish House\, 9 Depot Street\, Lisbon. Seasoned detectorist Ben Hoyt Jr. will be the guest speaker and will delve into the world of metal detecting and artifact interpretation\, as well as displaying a collection of artifacts uncovered through metal detecting.  Hoyt will share stories of the exciting moments and the historical significance of his discoveries.  Attendees will learn about detection techniques\, research methods\, and the importance of preserving local heritage. "This presentation is more than just showing artifacts\; it's about uncovering the narratives behind them\," Hoyt explains. "Each piece tells a story of the people who came before us\, and I'm excited to share that journey."\n\n "We hope the public will attend this special program\, as it is an opportunity to learn yet another avenue of exploring and learning more about history.
