SUMMARY:SUMMER SERENADE by the North Country Chamber Players
DESCRIPTION:August 3\, 2024\n\nDoors open at 3pm\nSUMMER SERENADE\n\nperformed by the North Country Chamber Players\n\nSaturday\, August 3\, 2024\n\nDoors open at 3pm\n\nPerformance begins at 4pm \n\nThe North Country Chamber Players perform Summer Serenade\, in the historic Grand Ballroom of the Omni Mount Washington Resort. The earliest serenades were usually sung at night to express love. The tradition continued through the Baroque and Classical periods\, but really reached its pinnacle with the sophisticated multi-movement works of the Romantic era performed for larger audiences. In Brahms' Serenade in D\, he channels Mozart\, Haydn and Schubert\, but never sets aside his own Romantic sensibilities. This expansive\, jubilant\, song-like\, somber\, stately and galloping piece is contrasted on the program by Carl Nielsen's brief and humorous Serenata in vano.\n\nThe North Country Chamber Players make their way back to the North Country for this special performance weekend from Boston\, Chicago\, and New York. Recognized as one of New England's finest musical ensembles for over forty-five years\, the North Country Chamber Players combines the talents of principal players from internationally renowned orchestras and chamber groups. Their world-class performances of old and new classics in relaxed and comfortable settings have made the Chamber Players a fixture of northern New Hampshire's cultural scene.\n\nThe North Country Chamber Players offers a "Pay-What-You-Wish" ticket pricing model to make their concerts accessible to everyone.\n\nRecommended ticket price: $25 (payable at the door)
