SUMMARY:Cocktail Party Fundraiser ~ Bethlehem's Golden Age at the Country Club
DESCRIPTION:The Friends of the Bethlehem Country Club cordially invite you to rediscover Bethlehem's Golden Age at the Bethlehem Country Club to raise money for improvements and renovations at the Clubhouse!\n\nDress to Impress!\n\nCome learn about the Bethlehem Country Club (BCC)\, which originally opened in 1898 as a 9 hole course. Hear how Donald Ross redesigned and expanded the course in 1909 as one of his first courses in New Hampshire.\n\nDid you know? The first clubhouse was built in 1898 and then moved to Vermont as a dwelling when the new clubhouse was built in 1912. The BCC experienced hard times most notably around 1917\, due WWI. By 1920 golf was popular again and the club was the focus of much activity. If fact\, an addition was planned but never completed although no one knows exactly why. These plans were found folded up and behind a cabinet 75 years later. In 1949 the Town of Bethlehem purchased the Country Club and has been owned by the town since and open to the public.
