The Littleton League of NH Craftsmen Gallery will celebrate its 10th Birthday. The Gallery first opened its doors on November 20, 2004, with owner Jeff Wheeler and Co-Managers Beth Simon and Michele Allison, and staff member Jody Blaney. The Gallery has grown to representing the work of nearly 200 of NH’s finest craftspeople, andBeth Simon, who took over ownership of the Gallery this past April, and who was recently juried into the League as a craftsperson in metal jewelry. is part of one of the premier crafts organizations in the country.Over the years the Gallery has offered classes, artist demonstrations, and “Meet The Artist” events. It was instrumental in founding the Littleton Studio School, located on Mill St. behind the Gallery, which offers classes in pottery, jewelry and mixed media to people of all ages and levels of experience.The League of NH Craftsmen is the oldest crafts organization in the country. It was founded in 1932 to help artisans market their handwork during the great Depression. Currently over 600 artists have earned juried membership by meeting the League’s rigorous standards for craft-making excellence. The Littleton Gallery is one of seven League Galleries around the state. The mission of the League of NH Craftsmen is to encourage, nurture and promote the creation, use and preservation of fine contemporary and traditional craft through the inspiration and education of artists and the broader community.
