Job Description
This .80 FTE position offers a combination of Statewide Disaster Behavioral Health Team (DBHRT) responsibilities under the supervision of the North Country Health Consortium’s Public Health Director. Based at NCHC’s Littleton office, this position involves significant travel and flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overnights.
  • Plan and coordinate for provision of behavioral health services in the event of a significant adverse incident or disaster for the community at large
  • Coordinate with community mental health centers
  • Willingness to carry cell phone 24/7 to allow timely intervention in event of incident or disaster
  • Serve as DBHRT Team Leader in event of incident
  • Assume leadership role in planning for and delivering services, pre-, during, and post-deployment
  • Work toward integrating behavioral health into preparedness drills and exercises
  • Represent Department of Health and Human Services - Emergency Services Unit at meetings as assigned
  • Provide behavioral health technical assistance
  • Work closely with statewide Disaster Behavioral Health Coordinator 
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related degree from an accredited program leading to licensure in the State of NH
  • At least three years of clinical experience and experience making public presentations and convening meetings
  • Experience in community organization, coalition building, or supervision of volunteers preferred
  • General management skills, including interpersonal, communication, organizational, and computer agility
  • Ability to shift and change priorities in response to emergent situations
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including working from home, to respond to incidents as needed 24/7
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
