Focused on the non-clinical role within healthcare and recovery centers, this Suicide Prevention Training will have participants: • Understand suicide, prevalence nationally and worldwide, and ambivalence • Understand risk and protective factors, safe messaging, and how substance use and mental health relate to suicide • Learn how to intervene with individuals at risk, connect them to appropriate resources, and best practices for restricting access to lethal means • Explain prevention and intervention education resources, including Zero Suicide approach, Signs of Suicide (SOS), NAMI Connect, Recognize, and Counseling Against Legal Means (CALM).
This Suicide Prevention Training is the 4th training in a series of 4 required trainings for individuals to earn the Certified Recovery Support Worker (CRSW) credential. Participants may sign up for all 4 or any of the trainings individually on the same registration form.
